Reliable protection of surfaces in the industry from aggressive environments allows you to efficiently and economically use your capital investments, avoid unplanned downtime and financial losses. One of the traditional methods of cleaning various surfaces is abrasive blasting. It has proven its effectiveness over time, but it has a number of disadvantages — high injury risk and environmental pollution.
PASSATSTAL, LLC strives for harmony between industry and the environment, sets high standards for occupational health and safety of employees. To achieve these goals, a long-term agreement was concluded and innovative dust-free abrasive-jet processing equipment was purchased.
Dustless abrasive blasting technology offers a wide range of technical solutions and advantages in the field of surface preparation, ranging from delicate cleaning to selective removal of coatings and profiling of industrial bases. During processing, harmful emissions and ricochets are suppressed, which can lead to expensive production interruptions and dangerous workplace conditions.
The basis of dust-free abrasive-jet surface processing is a polyurethane abrasive. This technology combines the restraining capacity of the urethane sponge and the cleaning and profiling efficiency of traditional materials. The elastic properties of the polyurethane abrasive allow its particles to flatten upon impact, exposing the abrasive itself. After moving away from the surface, the abrasive particles expand, creating rarefaction and trapping most of what would normally become atmospheric contaminants.
The main advantages of using:
— decrease of air emissions;
— decrease of harmful impact on employees;
— decrease of the number of injuries;
— improvement of visibility and achievement of quality results from the first pass;
— high-quality surface preparation on sensitive bases and in confined spaces;
— possibility of surface preparation near finishing coatings, control and measuring instruments and equipment.
It should also be noted that 95% of the polyurethane abrasive is recyclable, after which it is again ready for reuse.
